Kosovars Seek Handover Of Rebels Killed In Macedonia (RFE/RL)

Hundreds of people, including relatives of ethnic Albanian Kosovo gunmen killed in clashes with Macedonian police this month, rallied in Pristina on May 20 calling for the return of their loved ones -- dead or alive.

Some 300 protesters who also included veterans from the 1998-99 conflict between Kosovo and Serbia, gathered outside the government headquarters carrying banners that read "Our Boys Are Liberators" and "Long Live Liberators."

No official reply from Belgrade on Thaci’s visit (RFE)

Kosovo’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Petrit Selimi, told Radio Free Europe that Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci has already accepted the invitation to take part in a conference of EU integration of Western Balkans set to take place on 24 April in Belgrade. Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci, will visit Belgrade on 24 April if there is readiness in Serbia for such a visit. Kosovo’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Petrit Selimi, told Radio Free Europe that the ministry accepted the invitation of the Youth Council for Education to take part in a conference about Western Balkans EU integration but whether the visit would take place is a matter that “does not depend on Kosovo but on the readiness in Belgrade”.

Domestic violence is a persistent problem in the Kosovo society and only in 2014, 1,200 such cases have been recorded and women were victims in all of them. Kosovo Police (KP) officials said the exact figures of the domestic violence cases are not known because many cases are not reported at all. Tahire Haxholli from the KP’s domestic violence unit told Radio Free Europe that the number of reported cases has increased. She said that there were 100 more cases of domestic violence reported in 2014 than the previous year and she attributed this to the increase of awareness.
