Edita Tahiri convinced that “Peace Park” barricade will be removed tomorrow (Koha.net)

Kosovo’s Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri has rejected the claims that removal of the barricade over the River Iber in Mitrovica has failed. According to her, the barricade will be removed tomorrow, as planned.

She said that based on the Brussels Agreement reached on 25 August, the barricade will be removed from the bridge tomorrow, and revitalization of the bridge will start according to the plan published in the media. “As far as the alleged reactions of Serb officials and people from the northern municipalities, that you mentioned, I can say that the issue of the establishment of the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities is not related to the removal of the barricade. We have made it clear that establishment of the Association will proceed after the drafting of the statute of the Association and dissolving of the parallel structures in the meantime. Association cannot establish prior to complete dissolving of these structures,” said Tahiri adding that Serbian authorities are aware of this.

Tahiri said that two different processes, that of the removal of the so-called “Peace Park” and start of the works for revitalization of the bridge will happen tomorrow.
