KDI: minimal progress in fighting corruption in Kosovo (Koha)
Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) today published the report "Assessment of National Integrity System in Kosovo", which says that corruption continues to thrive in Kosovo and Kosovo has seen minimal progress in anti-corruption efforts in the past four years. Weak institutional cooperation and gaps in implementation of the law show that there is a lack of political will and commitment to fight corruption, the report states. "In Kosovo, there is a tendency to address problems of corruption with national strategies and action plans, which in practice, looks more like a wish-list rather than solutions,” said Visar Sutaj, one of the authors of the report . Libor Chlad from the EU Office in Kosovo said that there are many institutions in Kosovo to fight corruption, but according to him, the main challenge is to make a joint effort to combat it.
