EULEX prosecution requests four month extension of Azem Syla’s detention (Gazeta Express)

EULEX prosecution has requested extension of the detention for Azem Syla and the others, for four more months.

Tome Gashi, lawyer of the former MP, Azem Syla, said that according to the prosecutor, there are reasons for the extension of the detention, being that allegedly there is still danger from escaping, impediment of the criminal procedure and danger for the repetition of the crime. Gashi wrote on his Facebook page that Syla’s defense will object the request, because extension of Azem Syla’s detention can be considered only as sentencing and in no manner a legal measure for the unimpeded investigation.
