Draft law on demarcation proceeded to the Assembly Presidency (Koha)
Kosovo’s Assembly committee for foreign affairs, Diaspora and Strategic Investments has preceded to the Assembly the draft law on demarcation of the border with Montenegro, without a recommendation on whether to vote for or against it.
It remains to the presidency to decide when to put the demarcation issue in the agenda of Assembly sessions.
Despite the insistence of MPs from Vetevendosje Movement, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Imitative for Kosovo (NISMA) to send recommendation to vote against this agreement, this proposal did not pass.
Vjosa Osmani, Head of the Committee proposed to send the document sent from the government to the Assembly Presidency. “Let the draft law rely on the will of the MPs,” she said.
NISMA MP Zafir Berisha said the matter has been discussed more than required. According to him, the new commission has proved that the agreement was made based on false documents and the previous one exceeded its competencies.
“Let us recommend the vote against this agreement,” he said.
Visar Ymeri from Vetevendosje Movement shared the same opinion.
“It is clear to me that there were some violations on the findings, suspicion for falsification of documents. The current agreement is not in accordance with Kosovo’s interests. The session should be recommended not to ratify this agreement,” Ymeri said.
Doruntina Maloku from the Democratic League of Kosovo said the agreement should be preceded at the Presidency without any recommendations.
