A new chapter for the state of Kosovo begins on Tuesday (Koha)
Kosovo’s Minister of Finance, Abdullah Hoti, writes in an opinion piece that the highest representatives of the European Union and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa will sign the Stabilization/Association Agreement for Kosovo on Tuesday. Hoti argues that the signing of the agreement represents the most important development for the consolidation of Kosovo’s statehood since the declaration of independence. “The Agreement is aimed at: (i) supporting Kosovo in strengthening democracy and the state of law; (ii) strengthening political, economic and institutional stability in Kosovo and the stability of the region, including promotion of good neighborly relations; (iii) promoting economic development and international cooperation in this respect; and (iv) gradual promotion of a free trade zone between Kosovo and the European. The agreement promotes political dialogue for promoting Kosovo’s participation in international mechanisms and advancing Kosovo’s European prospects and approximation with the European Union,” Hoti writes.
