Kosovo Serb mayors sent open letter to President Vucic (TV Most)
Mayors of ten Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo have sent an open letter to the President Aleksandar Vucic, TV Most reported.
“On behalf of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, who in your policies sees the only hope of its survival in their centuries-old homes, we are urging you to please do not give up fighting for a just, compromising and sustainable solution, which will mean a better future, not only for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, but also for the entire Serbian people. We hereby address this letter, absolutely aware that reason must overcome the emotions, and that the steps of our children are as valuable as the steps of our ancestors”.
“Dear Mr. President, although you are more than aware of this, we remind you that if you give up the struggle, which for us means the life in Kosovo and Metohija, it will be the biggest historical defeat of our people in the recent history of Serbia, and at the same time the greatest victory of our enemies and their domestic sycophants”.
“Your struggle gives us faith, after many years, that we are not alone, that Serbs in the north did not defend in vain every inch from the attacks of the extremists, and that the Serbs in the south did not bravely survive in this region in vain. With this letter, we want to tell you that we are aware of the burdens you carry and that you often try to get the most out of the impossible situation, so we assure you that any solution you reach, which would mean more rights for Serbs, a safer environment for the citizens and the preservation of our sacred places and which would enable a better economic position of our people, we all support, whether it is a delineation, correction or something else”.
“We invite you not to give up from the mission of rescuing the north of Kosovo and Metohija and everything that can be saved from the clutches of Pristina, which is proposed by Jeremic, Đilas, Janjic, Trajkovics and other favourites and toadies of foreign embassies. Their gloating over our hard fate has to give you an incentive to continue the negotiations, for which you will always have the unreserved support from us and the Serbian people. And even if the solution is not reached due to the harmful acts of the aforementioned people, we will be forced to look for them in their houses and villas and ask them why they did it to the Serbian people”.
“Fight Mr. President, so that after many years, the entire Serbian people do not feel humiliated, in order for us to finally begin to celebrate peace and the future, and not defeat. Eagerly anticipating your announced arrival, the Kosovo Serbs will remain faithful to their country, regardless of all the temptations we are in, because you are our hope that Serbia will be here with us as well,” the letter said.
