IDPs cancelled their visit to Djakovica (RTK2, Kontakt plus radio, Vesti, Kossev)
Earlier announced visit of internally displaced persons from Djakovica to the Monastery of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God, on the eve of the monastery celebration on August 28, was cancelled due to security reasons, the president of Djakovica citizens Association, Djokica Stanojevic confirmed to RTK2.
Stanojevic stresses that the arrival of around 2,000 displaced persons from Djakovica to their hometown was prevented by an atmosphere of hatred, which, as he said, have prevailed in the past days.
''We gave up, because we do not want to enter the circle of hatred and tensions. We do not want incident. This time, the Serbs are not humiliated, all international institutions, institutions in Pristina, non-governmental organizations are humiliated, and even after 20 years they are not able to enable Serbs to appropriately celebrate the patron saint, Memorial Day, Easter, Christmas," Stanojevic points out.
The portal in the Serbian language Vesti reported on Saturday that before the celebration of the Virgin Mary, that IDPs mark in their native city, "certain non-governmental organizations and members of the Movement of Self-Determination have launched a campaign against the Serbs."
As this portal reports, in the canter of the city images of the Serbs were posted, who on that day visit their homes, along with the inscription "Prison for Serbian criminals".
According to this portal, about these photos no one has spoken so far.
Stanojevic reminds that the Djakovica citizens always had problems when they were visiting their place, that there were protests and stoning, but that those who travelled never were charged with crimes, reported the portal.
