"Father Sava would never betray Serbs or Kosovo" (Serbian media)
A negative campaign against the high-ranking Decani Abbot, father Sava Janjic continues with the accusations of Sima Spasic from the Association of Families of the Abducted and Missing, reports portal Vesti.
Representatives of other associations do not support Spasic's actions, stating that he should not be involved in politics but in clarifying the fate of the missing.
In his charges, Spasic went so far as to tell Patriarch Irinej that Father Sava does not deserve to remain in Visoki Decani because, as he claims, he stands for an independent Kosovo.
Spasic accused father Sava that he condemned Serbia over excessive use of force over Albanians in 1998 and 1999, and that he never wanted to condemn Haradinaj and Thaci, who, according to him, were responsible for the kidnapping of Serb civilians in 1998. Sima Spasic's views are not supported by other associations of families of kidnapped and missing persons in Kosovo, reports the portal.
- I do not think this is a question that he should deal with, said the president of the Association of Families of the Abducted and Missing Persons of Kosovo and Metohija Verica Tomanovic, adding that she did not support Spasic's actions directed against Father Sava.
- We are exclusively engaged in finding the truth about the fate of our family members and I am very sorry that discussion goes this way. We (associations) are not politically oriented, we only want peace to prevail in our region and this issue to, which is of great importance to all our families, both Serb and Albanian, be solved as soon as possible, she adds.
President of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons in KiM in Gracanica, Silvana Marinkovic, believes that no association should interfere with politics, saying that she does not agree with the views of Spasic about the Abbott of the Visoki Decani Monastery.
- As for the father Sava Janjic, we absolutely think that he would never betray the Serbs, nor he would betray Kosovo - Silvana Marinkovic was short in her statement to KIM radio.
The president of the Association "Kosovo's victims", Natasa Scepanovic, believes that Spasic "interfere in what he supposed to and what he should not," and that she disagrees with his views.
- He constantly writes something and sends to officials and institutions. The issue we are dealing with is humanitarian and civilized in nature, and we have our priorities. We do not enter politics. The position of Sima Spasic is the attitude of Sima Spasic and his association. This is not the attitude of all the families of the kidnapped and missing - said Scepanovic for Radio Television KiM.
