Jevtic: Why did international community change stance? (RTS, Radio kontakt plus)
Kosovo MPs should discuss today three draft laws, related to transformation of Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) in Kosovo army, RTS reports. This is so-called “plan B” of Pristina to establish the army, bypassing all agreements and accords stipulating it should not have been possible without the consent of the Serbs and constitutional amendments.
Srpska Lista Deputy Chair and outgoing member of the Kosovo Government, Dalibor Jevtic told RTS it is important to hear stances of the Serb political representatives in Kosovo and Metohija today once again and to ask a question, how is it possible that something which infringes the interests on non-majority community is not a constitutional matter.
Jevtic also underlined it is about an initiative that undermines the future of a dialogue. He noted that legal possibilities of the Serb representatives are not significant, in order to prevent the process of adoption of the laws.
“When we said several times the laws important for the Community of Serb Municipalities should have been adopted, they would respond we are trespassing into constitutional matter. And how come this is not the case now?” Jevtic asked.
Commenting on the attitude of the international community regarding KSF transformation, Jevtic reminded it were the very same representatives of NATO and the most powerful countries who were telling everything should be done in line with the Constitution.
“Now the question arises, why they have changed their stance?” Jevtic said, adding it this the way to resolve the problem or is this the way to help or undermine the dialogue?
