EP delegation on four-day visit to Belgrade and Pristina (Serbian media)
The European Parliament (EP) delegation headed by David McAllister, the Rapporteur for Serbia, will spend four days in Belgrade and Pristina to assess the political situation and the European Union relations with Kosovo and Serbia, the Beta news agency reported on Wednesday.
The Rapporteur for Kosovo, Slovenian MEP Igor Soltes, will also be in the EP delegation during its visit from Wednesday to March 2.
McAllister will meet Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic later in the day, and according to the announcement from Brussels, Euro-parliamentarians will have talks with political leaders in Belgrade and Pristina, members of the parliaments and the representatives of the opposition and civil society.
The agenda is supposed to include the most important issues from the resolutions on Kosovo and Serbia passed by the EP at the end of last year and the latest developments in the region.
Ahead of the visit, McAllister said the Western Balkans was an EU foreign policy priority and that the bloc had to support Serbia and Kosovo in developing powerful democratic institutions to enable the rule of law and prosperous civil society, the EP website reported.
