Dodik won't rule out possibility of RS independence (BETA, B92, BHT)
Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik says the possibility of a declaration of independence of the RS at a future time is not ruled out. The Serb Republic (RS) is the Serb entity in BiH, the other being the Muslim-Croat Federation (FBiH).
"I cannot rule out any movements in the future, and even a proclamation of independence of the RS. Whatever context somebody may put it in, I think it's quite rational," Dodik said in an interview for the Public Service of BiH (BHT).
The former RS president also assessed that the inability to form a new Council of Ministers of BiH was "an usurpation of political rights," and urged a new government at the level of BiH to be formed as soon as possible.
"Do you know what a political bomb it would have been if in December we showed the world that we completed the Council of Ministers - just as it is an equally bad one that after five months we have not done it," Dodik said.
He recalled that a few days ago, EU's commissioner in charge of neighborhood policy and enlargement negotiations, Johannes Hahn, warned that BiH could not receive a positive opinion unless its authorities have been set up.
