The money was taken from the icon in the value of about 20 euros that the believers left for Đurđevdan when liturgy was served in this church.
"The Diocese of Raska-Prizren once again expresses deep concern over the frequent cases of the burglaries of our temples in Kosovo and Metohija and appeals to the police authorities to find the perpetrators of this and earlier cases of burglaries of temples.
Bishop Teodosije emphasized that the burglaries of our temples further discourage our faithful people and that local institutions must provide better protection of the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the local Serb population, especially in isolated enclaves ", said the statement of the Diocese.
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced today that the burglary of the St. Paraskeva church in Gojbulja is another in a series of uncivilized and vandal attacks on SPC facilities in Kosovo, reports KIM radio.
The radio reports that the Office for KiM condemned the church's burglary and urged the Kosovo Police and the international community and its representatives in Kosovo to react and protect both sacred buildings and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people.
''Attacks on the SOC are also attacks on the Serb people as a whole in the southern province and have unambiguously the goal of discouraging those Serbs who intent to stay in their homes and continue to live in the homes of their ancestors," the Office said.
