It is a pity that Belgrade only supports the Serbian List, says President of the Progressive Democratic Party (RTK2, Slobodno Srpski, Kontakt plus radio)

President of the Progressive Democratic Party Nenad Rasic said that he was sure that the Assembly would decide to dissolve the Parliament on August 22, after which early parliamentary elections would be called.

Rasic said that to Serbs was irrelevant who would form the new government among the Albanian political parties, but that it was important that the Serbian politicians “position themselves” in the realization of a possible coalition agreement, which they themselves must defend.

“We should be aware that each one of them (Albanian parties) will defend their national interests, so we should defend our national interests. How? By making a clear, not just a strategy or request, not just some signed coalition agreement, but a joint organization with an action plan which must be implemented if we are to protect our national interests”.

He recalled a coalition agreement several years ago between the Serbian List and coalition partners when Isa Mustafa led the Government of Kosovo. Rasic pointed that it was “a clear indication of how not to work”, because almost nothing in that agreement was implemented.

“If Serbian List was sufficiently morally responsible, it would, for example, leave the government six months after that. But they persistently, not only remained silent about it, but concealed their mistakes”.

Rasic said that he believed that the Belgrade's official position to support only the Serbian List was “something the most tragic and regrettable”.

“According to President Vucic, nothing will change, they will be even more cruel to their opponents. This means that they will use all possible capacities and resources, not to create even better plans and better representation of Serbs, but to be crueller to the representatives who will not be part of the Serbian List”.

Rasic commented Serbian List’s past activities in the Kosovo political scene. “Policy pursued by Serbian List is a policy of self-destruction, emigration, exodus of Serbs, and for that reason I persistently say, I will always be the one who will advocate that Serbs living in Kosovo ought to stay there and continue to live with their families”.

Rasic said that ideas about demarcation, border adjustment or territorial exchange are disastrous for Serbs in Kosovo, because then all Serb institutions would be shut down, especially in the territory south of the Ibar River.
