Czech President on two arguments to revoke recognition of Kosovo (Blic, RTS, Tanjug)
Czech President Milos Zeman who said earlier in Belgrade he intends to ask for a possibility that Prague revokes recognition of Kosovo, told the media there he has two arguments to support his request – investigations conducted against Kosovo officials before the Special Court in the Hague and the fact that the Lower Chamber of the Czech Parliament at the time suggested that Prague should not recognize Kosovo.
He also noted his stance about Kosovo is long known and does not represent a surprise. He added the Lower Chamber of the Parliament adopted resolution asking the Czech Government not to recognize Kosovo, however, the Government headed at that time by Mirek Topolanek disregarded that resolution.
“In a meeting with officials for constitutional matters, there are four of them, I will try to present these arguments. Whether I succeed or not, that is the life,” Zeman said, CTK reported. He also said he would like that reconciliation between Kosovo Albanians and Serbs happens.
“However, wishes are one thing, while facts are another one,” he said, recalling the tariffs that Pristina imposed on goods from Serbia. “This definitely are not the steps towards compromise,” Zeman concluded.
