Eparchy condemned desecration of Christ the Savior in Pristina (IRS)

The eparchy of Raska and Prizren and Kosmet has condemned the latest desecration of the unfinished cathedral of Christ the Savior in Pristina. The eparchy states that singer Era Istrefi from Kosovo has made the video clip for one of her songs, in which she is dancing half naked in that Orthodox temple in Pristina. This incident shows the poor state of the temple, being also targeted by certain Albanian politicians and media who are openly calling for its destruction or even suggesting turning it into the museum to the terrorist KLA, reads the communiqué. The construction of the temple of Christ the Savior started in 1990 by then episcope and later by Patriarch Pavle, but the works were stopped in 1998, due to the armed conflict in the Province. The church was attacked several times and there were attempts to demolish it by explosives, and since KFOR is not providing protection, it is being used as a public toilet, thus standing as a symbol of the tragic state of religious and human rights in Kosmet, underlined the eparchy of Raska and Prizren. The communiqué invites the international and Kosovo officials to protect the church from further desecration and enable the completion of its construction.
