Serb suspected of a murder released after questioning (Kontakt Plus radio)
Radomir Kasalovic, who was arrested by the EULEX police in the north, was released on bail after the hearing, said his lawyer Ljubomir Pantovic. Pantovic in a statement to Kontakt Plus radio said that Kasalovic made a statement in the southern part of Mitrovica, after which he was released on bail.
EULEX announced that Kasalovic voluntarily surrendered to police and EULEX and was arrested without force. Kasalovic was taken to the EULEX logistic base, where he was examined by an international prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica. Murder charges are in connection to the death of Kosovo policeman Enver Zumberi, killed on July 26, 2011, during an attempt of the Kosovo police to occupy crossings in northern Kosovo. Kasalovic is suspected for the attack on the convoy of the Kosovo police in which Zumberi was. For a murder are indicted six Serbs, for which an international arrest warrant was issued shortly after the incident. Kasalovic is charged with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, and illegal possession of weapons and for the obstruction of official persons in performing their duties.
