Kosovo police is not investigating attacks on Serbs ( Kontakt Plus Radio)
Kosovo Police is ex officio obliged to conduct an investigation for endangering the safety of citizens. However, when it comes to the case of stoning buses with the Serbs from "Ðakovica /Gjakova, there is no investigation.
Serbs from Ðakovica/Gjakove said that every year when they go to their hometown (last nine years) the same persons stoned them, which can be concluded according to the recordings they possess. "How it is possible that the same persons wait for us, when it is well known that the same persons attacked us last time," asked Ðokica Stanojevic, president of the Association of Displaced Persons from that town. He added that recordings they possess will be handed over during the week to the US Embassy in Pristina and UNMIK.
Dalibor Jevtic, former Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government said that incidents followed every departure of Serbs from Ðakovica/Gjakove to their hometown, claiming that no one has ever been arrested, detained or held responsible for the attacks. "The Serbs from Ðakovica are attacked every time they tried to come to their home town, whether the reason is religious visits or visit to their houses," says Jevtic.
Pointing out that he has respect for the victims and that those that have committed crimes should be held responsible, Jevtic stated that "Ðakovica remains to be forbidden city for the Serbs, and it will be like that as long as Serbs are deprived of the right to come to their hometown."
In regards to the Jablanovic’s statement (who called attackers on the bus “savages”) what caused the wave of negative reactions, Stanojevic said: "In the last attack which happened on Christmas Eve, our driver was injured. However, it seems that news was not important, contrary to one word directed towards attackers who stoned the bus. The Police is aware whether it was incompetence, negligence or omission, because it is impossible to allow gathering in front of the church for Orthodox Christmas Eve."
We tried to find out in the Kosovo police why the attackers on the Serbs are not arrested, but we didn’t receive any answer.
