Mustafa: Jablanovic no longer minister (RTS, Politika)
Aleksandar Jablanovic no longer is part of my cabinet, said Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa. The decision was made without consultation with the Serbs, says Branimir Stojanovic, Kosovo's deputy prime minister.
Mustafa did not explain whether Jablanovic resigned or he was removed from the office. "We faced the demands of demonstrators in the previous period related to the Trepca and Minister Jablanovic. I can inform you that as of today Jablanovic is not part of the Cabinet of the Government of Kosovo," said Mustafa.
In a statement to Tanjug, Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government, Aleksandar Jablanovic said that he had not resigned from that position and that decision of the Kosovo Prime Minister was deeply disappointing.
"Protests of the movement Self-determination were not directed so much against me as they were against Serbs and their participation in the government," said Jablanovic.
Attitude of the Serbian List toward ruling coalition in the future, he said, will be taken in the coming days, after consultation with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic and other "relevant factors".
Asked about further political plans, Jablanovic said he has not received written notice of the decision of Prime Minister Mustafa, adding that in the coming days the plans would be known.
Jablanovic stressed that the decision of the Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa and for him personally and for the Serbian List, is "deeply disappointing".
Deputy Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanovic said that the Serbian list for future steps would consult with those who created it and on behalf of who they are in the institutions of Kosovo.
"After all the consultations, the Serbian list will decide how to proceed with regard to this decision," Stojanovic said and added that all representatives of the Serbian list do not agree with the decision that Jablanovic leave the Government.
CI Srpska announced that the decision of the Prime Minister of Kosovo to dismiss Aleksandar Jablanovic is undemocratic.
"We consider as undemocratic the act of Isa Mustafa to dismiss the Minister under pressure of demonstrators, who, as he himself said, by votes of Serbian voters entered into the government of Kosovo," the statement said.
"We hope that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa will understand the seriousness of the situation and the need to take decisions on such important issues in close cooperation with the Serbian community whose voice is as important as the voice of those who protest in the streets," the statement said
It is assumed that the reason for such a decision of the prime minister of Kosovo is Jablanovic statement on Christmas Eve in the village Zociste, where he called participants of the protest savages that prevented displaced Serbs to visit the church in Djakovica/Gjakova.
