Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar said today that the main objective of his ministry was to ensure that the health system in Kosovo functions and expressed satisfaction that in the area of health care, there were no major problems.
Loncar said that there were no major problems with the supply of drugs and procedures and announced that Serbia would open new departments and new services in hospitals in Kosovo.
The Minister said that he expects soon the Serbian Government officials to visit Kosovo and see where the money was invested and what was done.
The minister said that the situation would be much better after the reorganization of health care facilities, which was in the course.
When asked when the problem of lack of health personnel would be solved, because many of them were living in central Serbia and were on the payroll in Kosovo, the minister said the problem will be solved through the procedure that was on-going.
In some Serbian areas of Kosovo, there is nobody even who may give injection, and the problem arises because the largest number of workers on a list of employees does not live in the province but they receive a higher salary.
