Rakić: We’ll prevent any cowboy action (KoSSev)
Kosovo Privatization Agency (KPA) informed the public that next eviction of usurpers of the social property will take place in next couple days, with the full support of Kosovo Police on entire territory of Kosovo. This information was provided to KoSSev from the KPA following the portal’s inquiry about alleged temporary postponement of the eviction from seven business premises in Mitrovica North, which was supposed to take place last Thursday.
KAP explained that postponement of evictions in Mitrovica North has nothing to do with the ‘failure of institutions’ as reported by some Kosovo media portals, and that they have requested assistance of the Kosovo Police on 18 May, whereas there was no plan for eviction to take place on last Thursday since it was postponed earlier.
The head of Kosovo Regional Police operations North, Željko Bojić, stated on Friday that they know nothing about Pristina’s intentions. The Mayor of Mitrovica North, Goran Rakić, also said that municipality has not been informed about evictions, and that he had learned from media about the issue. He went on to say that if media reports proved to be correct, he will prevent ‘any cowboy action’. “Such things can’t be carried out anymore without the knowledge and consultations with the local self-government,” underscored Rakić, and added that in his opinion this is about ‘classic spinning’ during the course of the Brussels dialogue, when certain part of the Kosovo political elite needs to divert attention from the opposition’s critics directed to the authorities.
