Stojanović: I hope that wisdom will prevail (RTS)

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanović said to RTS that representatives of Serbs will invest additional efforts and that further talks are expected to take place today, aimed at finding solution for the wall. Authorities in Pristina announced that they will demolish the support wall in Mitrovica North in the vicinity of the bridge, which is under construction. Stojanović said to RTS that the other side did not want to find solution, due to ‘some sort of background reasons’. “We don’t know what is behind it, unless there is an ill intention to create a sort of chaos”, said Stojanović. He went on to say that he hopes that the wisdom will prevail and that international community will play its role. “We could find solution to this issue today.  If it was up to us, we could find solution in half an hour. It is up to the Albanian side,” said Stojanović and added that if there was a will to find reasonable solution this issue could be resolved quickly. Stojanović also said that he will inform NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is visiting Pristina today, about the current situation. Stojanović said that it will be requested from KFOR, and Nato being part of KFOR, to exercise their duties and prevent eventual major incidents. He also commented the information on increased presence of Kosovo Police Special Units (so called ROSU) in Serbian settlements, which Kosovo Police denies, and said that it is clear that ROSU is present in settlements they’ve never been present before ‘demonstrating some sort of force’. “We are worried with this presence”, said Stojanović and added that he will address this issue with his counterparts today in Pristina.
