Hoxha: Nine Serbs passed the Kosovo bar exam (RTK2)
The Brussels agreement on the judiciary was supposed to start on January 10, but this is still pending. The Parliamentary Commission on Legislation organized a public debate to inform the public about the reasons for non-implementation of this Agreement.
The Commission invited the Minister for dialogue Edita Tahiri and Minister of Justice Dhurata Hoxha to inform MPs and the public about the reasons for the delay of the integration of the Serbian judiciary into Kosovo's system.
"This agreement envisages the full integration of illegal judiciary into our judicial system. It is delayed for technical reasons. We implemented successfully the Kosovo Bar exam, with the aim of integration of Serbian judges and prosecutors," said Minister Tahiri.
The role of the Ministry of Justice in the implementation of this agreement is to provide conditions for integration of Serbian judges and prosecutors.
"The contribution of the Ministry of Justice is to achieve the best possible conditions for the integration of these communities into our system in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in force. At the last Bar Examination of 97 candidates who passed, nine were from the Serbian community," said Minister Hoxha.
Under the agreement, the Government of Serbia is committed to terminate the employment contracts and revoke salaries of the Serbian judges and prosecutors that will be integrated into the Kosovo judicial system.
