Detained in Monastery over accusations of Albanian neighbour (Politika)
Milanka Terzic, 64 years old woman, displaced from Kosovo, was arrested at Jarinje crossing point ten days ago, when she was entering Kosovo under the charges that she has committed a war crime in 1999. Following the arrest, she was placed under house arrest for one month, in the Pec Patriarchate Monastery under constant surveillance of the Kosovo police, Politika daily reported.
Terzic, who is also a retired teacher, explained to Politika that her neighbour, an Albanian, Rexhep Visoci falsely accused her because she refused to sell him the property where the house of her family was burned to the ground.
Terzic said that Rexhep with his son Agron Visoci, promised that he would avenge himself since she refused to sell him the property, and now he is also intimidating Romas who are in the neighbourhood. Recalling 1999, Milanka said that Albanians broke one of her son’s arm, almost beating him to death, and that she barely avoided being kidnapped on 18 March while rescuing documentation from the elementary school.
She had to leave Kosovo with her husband and four children on 11 June 1999, but they never wanted to sell 12 hectares of property. This is the reason why she was detained, she adds.
“I still don’t know what happened to me. They took me out of the bus at the Jarinje administrative crossing point, and then they took me, like some criminal, to the police stations and courts, under the indictment that was issued in 2016. I have been coming for 18 years to Kosovo, to Begov Lukavac village, Istok and Djurakovac, where they usurped my apartment, and nobody has ever been cross with me, not to mention to arrest me as some international threat,” Terzic said.
Terzic also added that the indictment includes her late husband who died in 2001 and her son who was 19 years old in 1999, Politika daily reported.
