Youth participation in decision-making important for positive changes in society (Kontakt plus radio)
The youth organization “Sinergija” implements a new project “Youth as human rights advocates” with the support of the UN Mission in Kosovo, Kontakt plus radio reported.
The programme director, Jovana Stojanovic told the radio, the project would last 6 months and would include educative workshops where young people would deal with human rights, gender equality, prevention of violence and young people as role models.
According to Stojanovic, the third phase would include campaigns and study visits, including also theater performances.
The aim of the project is to promote tolerance among young people and non-discrimination of different groups, individuals or communities,” she said.
Stojanovic also thinks inclusion of youth in decision-making processes is very important, given that in 10 to 20 years they would be the ones to hold important functions and make decisions, Kontakt plus radio reported.
