The latest display of ethnic intolerance and hatred in the village of Ugljare, near Gracanica continues a series of ethnically motivated attacks against Serbs in January, Srpska Lista said, Kontakt Plus Radio reported.
Srpska Lista also said this is the 9th attack against Serbs in Ugljare village this month.
“This attack, as all previous attacks, aims to intimidate the Serbs across Kosovo and Metohija, but in this particular case the attack is even more dangerous because it targets the school, which attends more than 150 children,” Srpska Lista press statement reads, adding the attack caused great disturbance among citizens.
Members of Srpska Lista, along with Gracanica mayor, Srdjan Popovic visited Ugljare village and spoke with a school director and the village inhabitants trying to ease down tension and appeal to restraint.
Srpska Lista called upon responsible bodies to identify attackers as soon as possible as their identification and punishment would send a message that such ill-intended misdeeds will not go unpunished.
They also called upon police to increase its presence as this is the 9th incident happening in Ugljare this month, Serbian media reported.
