Bojic: North of Kosovo calm and stable (Kontakt plus radio)
Chief of the Regional Police Operations in Mitrovica North, Zeljko Bojic told Kontakt plus radio that the security situation in the northern municipalities is stable and calm.
Bojic noted that 95 serious crime cases were registered in the north of Kosovo in 2017, and out of this number, 71 cases are resolved, which makes almost 75 percent. Regional investigative unit dealt with these cases.
Speaking about investigation of Oliver Ivanovic murder, Bojic said the police undertook operational actions and measures, took statements from witnesses and video recordings from surveillance cameras in several locations in the town.
He also added that the second phase in the investigation is underway, including elaboration of gathered material evidence and the police made a public call to the citizens to inform police if they have any information related to the burned vehicle found after Ivanovic’s murder. There is also active communication with police from other countries related to this case.
Bojic said that in the first two months in 2018, in the area of responsibility of the Mitrovica North police station, 54 criminal acts were registered and out of this number 36 cases are resolved, Kontakt plus radio reported.
