A lawyer, Dejan A. Vasic told Kontakt plus radio arrested Serb returnee, Milorad Zajic from Klina was placed under house arrest. He is charged with allegedly committing a war crime during the conflict in Kosovo.

“Milorad Zajic would defend himself against false charges that he has committed a war crime from the house arrest,” Vlajic said.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Returns Dalibor Jevtic said yesterday that arrests of returnees without solid evidence are unacceptable.

Jevtic also said yesterday’s arrest caused fear and uneasiness among people living in Klina and other returns sites in that part of Kosovo.

“We are not against implementing the law, but we do not support either to arrest people without solid evidence for some criminal act, in particular when it comes to returnees who are the most vulnerable and least protected”.
