Mogherini: Future of Kosovo and Serbia in EU depends on dialogue (Zeri)

Mogherini to meet Thaci and Vucic on Monday (Koha)

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica Mogherini, will meet on Monday with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The meeting is expected to focus on the resumption of dialogue for normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and overall developments in the Western Balkans.

Thaci: We will form the army (media)

Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci, during an address at the International Conference “Dubrovnik Forum”, said that Kosovo as a sovereign country has a constitutional right to form its own army in partnership with NATO. Thaci also said Kosovo is committed to resuming talks with Serbia. “We have pledged to continue dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. We are aware that we have reached a new point, a new process, which must conclude with the full normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade,” Thaci was quoted as saying.

The President to decide on formation of new government (Koha Ditore)

The paper reports on its front page that the legal arrangements in Kosovo provide no clear timelines as to when the President must task a prime minister nominee to form a new government, after the elections. “As a result, it is up to the President’s willingness any potential delay in the formation of a new Government,” the paper adds. Representatives of the President’s Office did not comment when Thaci will task a Prime Minister nominee to create a new government. Meanwhile representatives of the PAN coalition have said they are confident that a new government will be formed before the middle of July.

Deliu-Kodra: We have enough votes to form new government (Epoka)

Blerta Deliu-Kodra, MP and member of the chairmanship of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), told the paper that the PAN coalition will very soon form a new government. According to Deliu-Kodra, this coalition has already secured enough votes to form a government and that Ramush Haradinaj will be the next Prime Minister of Kosovo. She also said that the new government will bring stability, development and prosperity to Kosovo.

Rugova: No coalition with PDK, if PAN fails, we will talk with VV (media)

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Naser Rugova, said today that his party will in no way enter a coalition with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Rugova said this position was reconfirmed at the meeting of LDK MPs with party leader Isa Mustafa. He said that if the PAN coalition fails to form a new government, the LDK will start talks with other parties to form a government.

Osmani: LDK should enter coalition with Vetevendosje (Klan Kosova)

Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MP, Vjosa Osmani, said on Friday that she would prefer a coalition between her party and the Vetevendosje Movement. “I prefer we make a deal with Vetevendosje. I think this would be the best cooperation possible,” she said.
