Osmani: I received threats against my daughters (media)
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani told a press conference today that she received death threats against her life and the lives of her daughters. She said that every six months the Kosovo Police evaluate the level of threat and that the conclusion is always the same that her daughters face high danger. “I don’t believe that any parent would want to get constant threats that they or their children would get bullets on the head, and I constantly get such threats. I don’t believe that there is any parent in Kosovo that would want their daughters to be threatened with rape. There is no parent that would like to isolate their children from games and normal lives, but we are forced to do so because we have received over a dozen death threats,” Osmani said.
Osmani also commented on the incident involving a news website cameraman who was stopped near the school where her daughters go to class. She categorically denied that she or her security detail ordered for the cameraman to be stopped by police. “It was a lie that my close protection allegedly arrested the reporter. Yesterday the close protection did not arrest him; they don’t arrest reporters. They were in the line of duty,” she said. Osmani said that everything happened while her children were getting ready to leave the school premises and added that the unauthorized filming of minors is prohibited by law and media ethics. “You know very well that unauthorized filming is a criminal offence, and you know that in the ethics code of the media one of the main articles is the prohibition of unauthorized filming of children under the age of 18 without the permission of their parents”.
Osmani said she was not informed about the arrest of the cameraman at the time it happened and that she never asked or will ever ask for a reporter to be stopped.
Osmani also clarified a statement she made which caused major reactions, and said that she never said that reporters are subject of investigations by the security institutions, but that the investigations in the case of Milan Radoicic have involved other persons too. “I did not say that reporters have been investigated. But the institutions have investigated Radoicic, and as part of this, others too appear. They know who they are … I don’t tell the security institutions who to investigate and I cannot mention any names because I would be obstructing the process … The moment that the security institutions tell me that if I mention the names the investigation process would not be obstructed, I would have done this. But I say that you would be shocked to hear the names,” she argued.
Charges filed against person for sharing info with Serbian intel agency (media)
The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment against a person for the criminal offence of espionage. Hysri Selimi is accused of cooperating with the Serbian Agency for Intelligence and Security (BIA) from November 2009 until the time of his arrest in May 2025. The indictment notes that the accused travelled to Syria in November 2015 and joined the terrorist organization ISIS. “There is grounded doubt that H.S. sent information to BIA officials about the number of Albanians that participated in ISIS, their organization and which parts of Syria they operated. Upon his return to Kosovo and serving a sentence for taking part in a terrorist organization, he continued meeting in Serbia with BIA officials, specifically with the Director of Fighting Terrorism, I.B., and shared other important information,” the indictment notes. The prosecution said that the defendant was paid €700 monthly for sharing the information.
Kosovo leaders remember September 11 attacks in US (media)
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha laid flowers today at the memorial plaque for the victims of the attacks on September 11, 2011, in the United States. “We pay our homage today in memory of all the victims of the September 11 attack and also to honor the heroism shown by all those that responded to this attack by risking their lives in order to save others. On that day the world was split in half, those that deeply believe in the values of freedom, humanity and stand together in defense of these values and in the fight against terror, and others who believe in terrorism and use it to cause suffering upon others,” Osmani said. Kurti said that the September 11 attacks “warned about the big threats that await us in this century”. “We had a case in Kosovo, when certain illegal structures led by Belgrade, carried out terrorist actions in our country. Certainly, in the European continent, the terrorism that is exercised the most is one by the Russian Federation and its despotic president Putin, against the Ukrainian people and against the values of freedom and democracy,” he argued.
Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Memli Krasniqi said the attacks were “a deep wound for the democratic world”. “We in Kosovo know very well what it means when freedom is under threat, therefore, we highly evaluate the sacrifice, unity and strength with which the United States responded to terror 24 years ago,” he said. “Remembering the victims and heroes of that day, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to protect freedom, peace, and democracy, values which forever bind us to our American friends and allies”.
Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj said the people of Kosovo were shocked by the September 11 attacks and the loss of many innocent lives. He said the memory for the victims remains unforgettable and that Kosovo stands with the families of the victims and the United States.
Post of Kosovo takes over premises used by Serbian Post in Gracanica (media)
Most news websites report that the Post of Kosovo is completing procedures to take over a facility that was used by the Post of Serbia in Gracanica. Koha news website reports that according to information it got from the Post of Kosovo, the facility was a property of the communications enterprise – Post, Telegraphy and Telephony (PTT) – and that in the last couple of months the cadastral procedures were completed to transfer it to the Post of Kosovo.
Hoxha calls for greater cooperation with FBI against organized crime (AP)
Kosovo Police General Director Gazmend Hoxha met today with the new FBI legal attaché Brendan Collins and praised “the always excellent” cooperation between the Kosovo Police and the FBI. Kosovo Police said in a Facebook post: “The General Director said the cooperation has always been excellent and produced tangible results in the field of security. He expressed his readiness to further strengthen this partnership in the future … Special emphasis was paid to cooperation in the fight against organized crime and other phenomena of mutual interest”.
Barduani visits commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina (media)
Several news websites report that commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, visited on Wednesday the Commander of EUFOR-Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Florin-Marian Barbu, at EUFOR headquarters in Camp Butmir, Sarajevo. KFOR said in a Facebook post that “the talks focused on KFOR’s role in Kosovo security, its contribution to regional stability and the cooperation with EUFOR and NATO headquarters in Sarajevo. General Barduani underlined KFOR’s continued commitment to a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo and the importance of close coordination between KFOR and EUFOR as part of the wider international effort to promote peace and stability in the Western Balkans”.
Source: “Radoicic’s father-in-law ties with accused spy” (Kosovapress)
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said today that the latest reported case of espionage with which Kosovo is faced are signs of a big threat. Citing unnamed sources, the news agency reports that “the father-in-law of Milan Radoicic, Seat Redzepagic, who works in the OSCE mission in Kosovo, had close relations with Jelena Djukanovic”, who has been charged by Kosovo authorities for spying for the Serbian intelligence agency (BIA). Asked to comment on this, Osmani told a press conference today: “this is an alarm for everyone to increase their vigilance and make sure that their actions do not benefit those that don’t want Kosovo’s statehood. What we are faced with, especially in the last couple of years, is a sign of a big threat. I raised it in every meeting with international organizations. It is unforgivable that without any security clearance, such people penetrate these international organizations and threaten security. I didn’t know that one of them is Radoicic’s father-in-law. There are others for which we have continuously raised the alarm”.
Maqedonci: KSF making final preparations to take part in Cambrian Patrol (media)
Kosovo’s caretaker Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, said in a Facebook post that a team from the Kosovo Security Force is making final preparations to take part in the Cambrian Patrol exercise which is held in Wales. “Our team has also been joined by a team of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, which are working on scenarios that are similar to those that will take place during the race. The KSF participation in the Cambrian Patrol exercise increases the interoperability with the British army and partner parties from around the world and increases the individual and group skills and tactics of our soldiers,” Maqedonci said.
Osmani hosts cultural event in Rahovec vineyards with diplomatic corps (media)
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said in a post on X on Wednesday that she hosted a cultural event with the diplomatic corps in Kosovo, “to showcase the extraordinary potential of our land — in the fertile vineyards of Rahovec, where every vine and every glass of wine carries the story of generations who worked this soil with perseverance and pride”. Osmani also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Stone Castle winery and its founder and staff. “Through their vision and devotion, the wines of Kosovo have not only gained recognition beyond our borders, but have traveled across oceans and continents, carrying with them the spirit of our people and the richness of our land,” she said.

A new round of dialogue, under EU’s auspices has started today with the meeting of Belgrade delegation headed by Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director and chief negotiator at technical level, Petar Petkovic and EU High Special Envoy for Belgrade-Pristina talks, Peter Sorenson and his team, Tanjug news agency reported.

The new round of talks came only two days ahead of starting the pre-election campaign for local elections in Kosovo, the news agency recalled.
Takeover of the Public Company Post of Serbia facility in Gracanica and Strpce (KiM radio, KoSSev)
Members of the Central Inspectorate for market surveillance and the Kosovo Post, accompanied by the Kosovo Police, take over the facility of Public Company 'Post of Serbia' in Gracanica.
The director of the Post of Serbia in Kosovo, Ivan Milojevic, is also present at the taking over of the building, reported KiM Radio journalist from the scene.
KiM radio recalled that the Post of Serbia facility in Gracanica was closed on January 15, 2025. Then the employees were also unable to perform their jobs.
At the same time, as reported by Borzani Online, inspectors for market surveillance and the Post of Kosovo are taking over the facility of the Post of Serbia in Strpce as well, reported KoSSev.
Milojevic on Post of Serbia takeover: This little we had they take away from us (Radio KIM, KoSSev, media)
“We, Serbs from Kosovo, were expelled from cities and worked with our post office for 25 years in villages, private houses. And this little, we had built, they are taking away from us”, acting director of the Post of Serbia, branch in Kosovo, Ivan Milojevic said after the Post of Serbia premise in Gracanica was taken over by Pristina authorities today, Radio KIM reported.
“Here we are, in front of the Post of Serbia, in Gracanica, as per request of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurship and Kosovo Post. It occurred that on July 17 or 15, they changed the ownership in Kosovo cadastre, where we were registered (as owners) Post of Serbia as Post of Gracanica. And they did so in an illegal manner”, Milojevic told journalists in Gracanica.
He also said they had no chance to insert remarks in minutes on takeover. “They did not even allow us to write a single remark in the minutes, to present claims for which we have evidence. That we constructed this post office from 2004 onwards, that here was a small, old post office of some 30 square meters, and today as you can see this is the central building of the Post of Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija, and it is being usurped, taken away”, he added.
He also said Kosovo institutions made “legal coverup for the process they have concluded today and started it with provisional closure of the Post Office”.
“They only needed some more time to make documentation, so to say. It is not only the case in Gracanica, it happens in Strpce, Leposavic, everywhere. We, Serbs from Kosovo were expelled from cities and with our post office we worked for 25 years in villages, private houses. This little we had, they are taking away from us today. The buildings of the former, joint post office, remain in cities, exclusively for them”, he added.
As he said this was not “sufficient to them”. “They had to come here ahead of elections, to open vacancies, most probably to confuse people even more, divide and intimidate Serbian people. My message is that we will fight with all legal means to prove this in court. But it is difficult, the same people are your accusers and your judges”, Milojevic asserted.
KLA graffiti in a Serbian village in the municipality of Novo Brdo (N1, KoSSev)
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that graffiti of the KLA (UQK) was noticed last night in the village of Stanisor in the municipality of Novo Brdo, which is inhabited by Serbs, which caused concern among the local population, reported N1.
"Writing graffiti with this content for years has been one of the favorite ways of intimidating the Serbian population, which Albanian extremists are reaching for, and represents a clear message of hatred and enmity," they stated in the statement.
They added that in Kosovo ''at a time of heightened political tension and in the pre-election period, it is common for extremists to intensify their activities, and the incident in Stanisor hints that this time will be no different''.
Chapel desecrated at Orthodox cemetery in Pristina (KoSSev, Radio KIM, media)
Unknown individuals have broken the glass on the door and windows at one of the chapels at Orthodox cemetery in Pristina, Kosovo Online portal reported. The glass was scattered both at the entry and inside the chapel.
The cemetery is under video surveillance; however, it did not deter perpetrators from desecrating it, the media report added. The chapel used to hold memorials to those deceased was damaged on previous occasions but was renovated over the last few years and protected with video surveillance.
Radio KIM said Pristina parish priest Stanisa Arsic was not willing to comment on the latest desecration. Earlier damaged or demolished tombstones are seen across the cemetery. No one was held responsible for these crimes. The cemetery appears neglected and unmaintained.
Road construction is ongoing in the vicinity. The fence along the railway tracks had been removed, so the access to the cemetery is open, Radio KIM added.
Trajkovic from the Serbian National Council in Kosovo sued Ana Brnabic (Danas, Beta)
Momcilo Trajkovic from the Serbian National Council of Kosovo sued the President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, for violation of honor and reputation because she stated on TV Pink on June 30 that Trajkovic "made millions selling Serbian land to Albanians."
"Given that Trajkovic does not have access to the media with a national frequency, nor is Brnabic allowed to publicly confront him with his opinion in a debate show, the courtroom will be the only institution where the facts of who and when sold Kosovo and Metohija will be determined," wrote Trajkovic's lawyer Ivan Ninic in a statement.
The statement added that "seven lawsuits against media publishers and responsible editors, who transmitted the Ana Brnabic's narrative into tabloid texts with the aim of replacing the thesis that Kosovo and Metohija was sold by Momcilo Trajkovic, and not Aleksandar Vucic," were also submitted to the High Court in Belgrade.
"The criminalization of Momcilo Trajkovic in tabloids controlled by the regime followed after, at the invitation of students, on June 26 of this year, Trajkovic gave a speech in Belgrade and conveyed the support of the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija to the student protests," the statement read.
Ahead of elections, North Mitrovica Assembly fast-tracks land conversions (KoSSev)
Ahead of the official start of the local election campaign in Kosovo, the Municipal Assembly of North Mitrovica adopted decisions to reclassify seven plots of land from agricultural to construction use — paving the way for, according to the available information from the session, new housing, a kindergarten and social housing units, though many details remain unclear, reported KoSSev in English today.
The decisions were adopted at a session held on September 9, which began 30 minutes late as assembly members waited for a quorum. The invitation to attend was reportedly sent only shortly before the meeting — a practice not in line with the law.
Housing and Kindergarten Projects
Apart from a private request to convert a small plot for a single house in Suvi Do, all remaining parcels will be used for multi-unit residential buildings, including one or more structures intended for social housing.
The insurance company Eurosig AD received approval to convert five parcels — including a 750-square-metre plot in Bosniak Mahala across from the Prosecutor’s Office — to build a mixed-use development featuring at least one residential-commercial building and a kindergarten. According to unofficial remarks made during the session, up to four buildings may be planned for this area.
The parcel for the kindergarten was previously owned by the municipality and swapped with Eurosig in May under an agreement requiring the company to construct the facility.
The municipality itself also submitted a request to convert two of its own plots for the construction of one or more social housing buildings. Officials say the project is linked to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning’s “Adequate Social Housing” programme, but no precise locations, building numbers or timelines were disclosed.
Lack of Transparency
Even assembly members appeared unsure of the exact locations of the parcels they were voting on. Assembly member Skender Sadiku told KoSSev he supported the measures regardless, citing the need for social housing and kindergartens.
“Wherever it is built, if there are problems with ownership or planning, professionals will resolve it,” he said, adding that the decisions would be sent to the ministry for review.
Another member, Betim Osmani, stressed that the assembly voted only on reclassification of the land, not on the actual construction projects.
Allegations of Illegality
The decisions drew criticism from Milan Radojević, a candidate for North Mitrovica mayor, who called them unlawful. He said the current municipal leadership — which he considers illegitimate — is barred by law from making decisions on the use or exchange of municipal property once local elections have been called.
According to Radojević, no public hearings or auctions were held before the reclassification decisions, as required by law. He cited Article 10 of Kosovo’s law on municipal property use, which limits municipal assemblies and executives from taking such decisions after elections are announced.
He called on the Ministry of Local Government Administration to annul the decisions and promised that a future municipal government under his leadership would reverse them. He also warned that officials who voted for what he described as “illegal” decisions would be held accountable in court.
New witnesses discussed in a trial of Sladjan Trajkovic (Radio KIM)
After a longer break, the trial of Sladjan Trajkovic accused of allegedly committing war crimes in Vucitrn municipality, during the conflict in 1999, continued today at Basic Court in Pristina. Trajkovic is a former member of Serbian and Kosovo police.
Proposals on new witnesses, from both prosecution and defense were discussed in a hearing today. The judicial panel refused to admit new witnesses of prosecution, while from defense out of 11 proposed witnesses they accepted 4, Trajkovic’s defense lawyer Bogdan Lazic said. He added the next hearing will take place in October.
Lazic recalled that during the process all witnesses from prosecution were interviewed and that one more defense witness needed to be interviewed. This is the third re-trial of Trajkovic, due to changes in composition of judicial panels.
Trajkovic was arrested on December 15, 2022 in Mitrovica South and remains in detention ever since. His defence warned on several occasions of his poor health, demanding his release from detention and placement under house arrest on the health grounds, however the court has dismissed all their requests citing the risk to flee.
EUFOR reserve forces arrived in BiH, KFOR to join them for the "Rapid Response 2025" exercise (Kosovo Online)
EUFOR reserve forces arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina and they will be joined by KFOR. Together they will participate in the "Rapid Response 2025" exercise. The last convoy from the Czech Republic entered today via the Svilaj border crossing, which completed the arrival of the Czech reserve forces at the Butmir base, reported Kosovo Online.
"Czech and Hungarian reserve forces, together with members of KFOR, the NATO-led force in Kosovo, will join EUFOR units that are already deployed in the area of operations and participate with them in the exercise "Rapid Response 2025", our large annual military exercise," EUFOR announced.
Together with members of EUFOR, members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina will also train.
"The goal of the exercise is to improve the operational readiness of all involved forces and to confirm EUFOR's permanent support to partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina in preserving a safe and stable environment throughout the country," the statement added.
Since 2012, EUFOR has conducted the "Rapid Response" exercise every year, except for 2014, when the exercise was canceled due to heavy flooding, federal media in BiH reported.
Weekly says Belgrade crucial in evacuating Palestinian NBC reporters from Gaza (N1)
Belgrade weekly Nedeljnik said that the Serbian authorities played a key role in evacuating 5 Palestinian NBC reporters and their family members from Gaza in August, N1 reported.
Nedeljnik said that it was told by Serbian and American sources that Serbia issued travel documents to the 5 Palestinian journalists and 3 of their family members. They were evacuated following weeks of preparation with the approval of the Israeli government.
The operation started when an NBC producer asked Serbian Ambassador in Washington DC Dragan Sutanovac for help at a diplomatic reception. Ambassador Sutanovac then contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to unnamed sources, official Belgrade issued the travel documents, and the Palestinian journalists and family members were evacuated through Jordan with the involvement of Lebanon, the Israeli COGAT and Serbia’s embassy in Israel.
The Israeli authorities initially approved the evacuation of 6 people but agreed to another 2 following days of negotiation. The convoy evacuating them was attacked by Hamas and had to return and try again. They flew to Serbia from Jordan and then on to other destinations. NBC refused a Nedeljnik request for a comment.

Peci: Self-determination threatens Kosovo's multi-ethnic character and contributes to division (Kosovo Online, FB)
The director of the KIPRED Institute, Lulzim Peci, believes that Self-Determination, by calling into question the multi-ethnic character of Kosovo, consciously contributes to “the division of the country”, reported Kosovo Online.
According to Kosovo Online, in a post on Facebook, Peci pointed out that if someone thought that they could do whatever they wanted in Kosovo, and that it would pass without serious consequences, they were very much mistaken.
"We are done with these ideas about the 'electoral redefinition' of the state of Kosovo, which does not bring any good! Yes, Kosovo is a unique state, because it is not a federation and does not possess forms of regional autonomy with legislative capacity! Yes, Kosovo is also a multi-ethnic state, because its constitution and laws guarantee the rights of non-majority communities, including the advanced rights of the Serbian community at the local and national level. Self-determination, calling into question the multi-ethnic character of Kosovo, consciously contributes to the option of deunitarization, or even above, the division of our country," he stated.

Unsolved: Murder of a Kosovo architect who imagined a different Pristina (Balkan Insight)
As an urban planner, Rexhep Luci fought to bring order to Kosovo’s capital. With his murder 25 years ago, the city lost the battle against illegal, unregulated and chaotic construction, and the case was never solved.
On the evening of September 11, 2000, Rexhep Luci left a meeting at the Grand Hotel in Pristina and headed home.
Luci was head of spatial planning, reconstruction and development at the municipality in the Kosovo capital, which had been flooded with people in the wake of the 1998-99 war. In 1985, Luci had spearheaded the drafting of a 15-year urban plan dubbed ‘Pristina 2000’, only to watch as Kosovo fell victim to rising Serbian nationalism and the blueprint was set aside.
That day in September, Luci had met with a group of experts to discuss temporary construction criteria for the city.
The 58-year-old had wanted a new, 20-year plan to curb the proliferation of high-rises and bring some order to Pristina’s urban development, but the United Nations officials in charge since the end of the war had cut it back to five. It was also up to Luci to order the demolition of illegal buildings.
