Kurti: Serbia is targeting several non-Serbian minority MPs (media)

Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that after interfering in the parliamentary elections of February 9 in Kosovo, Serbia is continuing its efforts to sabotage the consolidation of the institutions resulting from these elections.

"The President of Serbia, Vucic, has made state resources and means available for this to the Serbian List and the terrorist leader Milan Radoicic, who in the criminal and terrorist aggression in Banjska, on September 24, 2023, was the "de jure" deputy leader of the Serbian List, and is now the "de facto" leader of this political entity. Several MPs from non-Serb minorities are targeted," Kurti wrote on Facebook.

He added that security institutions have confirmed information regarding these actions and that this issue was discussed at the meeting of the Kosovo Security Council. In this post, Kurti also attached the link to the joint conference with Minister Nenad Rasic on March 9, 2025.

Kosovo Security Council: Serbia intervenes to sabotage establishment of institutions (media)

The Kosovo Security Council held on Sunday a meeting at the request of the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, where the general security situation was reported and discussed, “with particular emphasis on destabilizing plans and criminal interventions by Serbia.”

During the meeting, the latest incident of April 1, where the Kosovo Post office in Zvecan was attacked with two hand grenades, one of which exploded, was reported. “The Post Office in Zvecan has been fully repaired and public services are now being provided there normally. When we add to this the arrest last night of four Serbian ‘pilgrims’ in Gjakova – one of whom was a lieutenant in the Serbian police and the other a captain in the Serbian army, and everything that was confiscated from them – it is required that all state institutions and mechanisms maintain high attention and readiness,” the announcement says.

At this meeting, the members of the Kosovo Security Council emphasized that Serbia’s interference has also increased in the Kosovo electoral process, including efforts to sabotage the establishment of the new institutions of the ninth legislature.

"This meeting concluded that in addition to Serbia's interference in the election campaign and parliamentary elections in Kosovo on 9 February 2025, through the Serbian List and the terrorist leader Milan Radoicic as its "de facto" leader, Serbia is now interfering with some of the Mps of non-majority and non-Serb communities, in order to sabotage the establishment of the new institutions of the ninth legislature. With threats and enticements, and especially with blackmail, it is trying to incite interethnic and inter-party tensions in Kosovo and to destabilize Kosovo".

The Security Council assessed that this represents a flagrant interference in the sovereignty, democratic functioning and institutional integrity of Kosovo. It was also stated that Serbia is exerting strong pressure on Kosovo Serbs to participate in the announced rally of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade. "Vucic's regime is aiming to export the crisis to Kosovo and beyond, while it itself is in the biggest crisis ever," the announcement says.

Ten of 12 detained Serbs in Prizren, released in a regular procedure (Koha)

Of the 12 Serbs who were detained on Sunday in Prizren, ten of them were released in a regular procedure after being interviewed and two were detained for 48 hours.

The spokesperson for the Kosovo Police for the Prizren region, Vesel Gashi, told the news website that two people were detained for false representation. They had declared that they were officials of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, but did not have identification documents.

The people were in three cars with Serbian license plates. “Today, on 06.04.2025, at around 12:00, three cars with Serbian license plates, in which there were 12 people - citizens of Serbia - were stopped at the ‘Arasta’ bridge. The people and cars were searched and then escorted to the police station in Prizren for identification and interviewing,” Gashi stated. "After being interviewed, ten people were released, while the other two were detained after they introduced themselves as members of the Serbian MUP, but they had no documentation proving such a thing."

Arrest of Serbs in Gjakova, one policeman and other member of army (media)

Four persons of Serbian nationality have been arrested in Gjakova on Sunday, two of whom are active security officials in Serbia – an active policeman and a member of the Serbian army intelligence. During the search of their vehicles, weapons were also found. The arrest was carried out by the Gjakova police units, who stopped four Serbian males on “Gasper Karaqi” street. After verifications, they were identified as: N.V. (1982), P.K. (1990), B.R. (1978), and M.S. (1982).

This was confirmed for RTK by Major Milazim Lumi, commander of the Gjakova Police Station. During the search of the vehicle, weapons were found in the trunk, which led to the opening of a case for "unauthorized possession and possession of weapons". After consultations with the State Prosecutor's Office, the four arrested were detained for 48 hours. Initial suspicions are that the arrested may have links to Serbian Intelligence Agency (BIA).

The Regional Police Director in Gjakova, Colonel Lumni Graishta, told RTKlive that two of them are security officials in Serbia, one is an active police officer, while the other is a member of the Serbian military intelligence. "Currently, the case is being treated as "unauthorized possession of weapons", but after the investigation, the case may be reclassified", he stated.

Svecla on 16 Serbs arrested in Kosovo: They aimed to gather information (media)

In a joint operation carried out by Kosovo's security agencies on April 5 and 6, 2025, a total of 16 individuals were detained, traveling in four vehicles with license plates from Kragujevac, Serbia — among them, four active officers from Serbia's security services.

Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, stated that the arrested Serbs are suspected of having intended to gather intelligence on potential targets, as evidence was found linking them to Serbian military intelligence structures as well as to members of the group involved in the Banjska attack.

“The first group, consisting of four individuals, was apprehended in Gjakova. During the vehicle search, the authorities found: photographs with the map of the Republic of Kosovo, photographs of terrorists killed during the Banjska attack, two knives, an axe, and a rotating police light. Based on the prosecutor's decision, the individuals were detained for 48 hours, Svecla wrote on Facebook.

“The second group, consisting of 12 people, was arrested in Prizren while being sheltered at the Orthodox Theological Seminary. Among them were also two active officers from Serbian security services. Preliminary investigations confirmed that one of the detainees, a Serbian police officer with the rank of lieutenant, has close family ties to Nemanja Radivojevic, known by the nickname "Gandi," a member of the Banjska terrorist group. He is a relative of Vladimir Radivojevic, alias "Mami," the main suspect in the killing of Kosovo police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku.

The other military officer, who holds the rank of first-class captain, is linked to former Serbian military intelligence general Jovan Milanovic, known for his involvement in leaking NATO data prior to the alliance's bombing campaign on Serbian targets.

The fact that they were sheltered at the Orthodox Theological Seminary may indicate an attempt to exploit religious institutions for cover or to provoke interethnic or interfaith tensions in Kosovo, using fabricated events to incite violent reactions or unrest,” Svecla stated.

He emphasized that the security institutions will continue the investigation and will keep the public informed of further developments. "We urge citizens to report any suspicious activity and to cooperate closely with our security institutions," Svecla concluded.h

Albulena Haxhiu accuses opposition of certifying Serbian List (media)

Acting Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, has criticized the actions of the opposition and the certification of Serbian List for the elections, emphasizing that this decision was a repeated mistake. According to Haxhiu, when one does not learn from mistakes, this leads to unexpected consequences of wrong actions. She emphasized that Serbian List, which was created in the dialogue with Serbia, continues to be a destabilizing factor in Kosovo.

Haxhiu considers this entity as a "time bomb", which has had a great impact on every government, except for the Kurti government. She emphasized that the opposition had the opportunity to prevent another mistake, by not allowing the certification of Serbian List, especially considering that its deputy leader was involved in organizing the attack in Banjska and had never distanced himself from that event. "The Serbian List was and remains a ticking time bomb in our country," Haxhiu said, adding that this is a missed opportunity to improve the situation.

Kallas to visit Western Balkans this week (media)

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will visit several countries in the Western Balkans from April 7 to 9. On her first visit to the region as head of European diplomacy, Kallas will stay in Montenegro, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

However, Kallas has not included Kosovo, Serbia and North Macedonia in her agenda. Regarding her visit to the Western Balkans, EU spokesperson Anitta Hipper has explained why Kaja Kallas will not visit Kosovo or Serbia. She stated that Kallas cannot visit all the countries of the Western Balkans due to time constraints.

Kurti: Kosovo joins democratic coalition for cybersecurity (media)

Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, through a post on his Facebook profile announced that “Kosovo has joined the Pall Mall process as a supporting state of the Code of Practice for States within the framework of this process.”  As Kurti wrote, Pall Mall is a joint initiative of the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of France, which brings together democratic countries to address the proliferation and responsible use of commercial cyber capabilities. “The misuse of these technologies poses a serious risk to human rights, national security and international stability. The Code of Practice for States was officially launched at the Second Meeting of the Pall Mall Process, held in Paris on 3–4 April 2025. This Code sets out guiding principles for increasing transparency, accountability and oversight, promoting responsible behavior of states in cyberspace,” Kurti wrote on Saturday. He further, stated that with the support of this Code, Kosovo joins a growing coalition of democratic countries working to ensure that cyber tools are used in accordance with international law and human rights standards.

Office for KiM: Pristina started a wave of apprehension of pilgrims, new pressure on Serbs and SOC (Kosovo Online)

The office for Kosovo and Metohija announced on Sunday evening saying that ''Pristina yesterday started a wave of apprehension of pilgrims from central Serbia, with the aim of continuing to destabilize the situation in Kosovo and put pressure on the Serbian people'', reported Kosovo Online.

The Office stated that P.K., M.S., B.R. and N.V. were taken into custody in Djakovica on Saturday and were detained for 48 hours.

"A group of pilgrims was arrested in Prizren today, and L.S. and S.R. were detained, while the others were released after questioning and taken to central Serbia. A total of 16 people were detained. This is the most blatant legal violence, and the most flagrant violation of religious freedom, because all those detained were in Kosovo and Metohija to visit the holy places and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church. At the same time, all detainees have regularly crossed the administrative crossing, which shows that their presence in Kosovo and Metohija was not disputed in any way," read the statement of the Office for KiM.

The statement further said that "extremist political structures in Pristina and with these arrests show that they want to exert new pressure on the Serbian Orthodox Church in KiM and its monasteries, especially south of the Ibar, and to tell the Serbs that they are not allowed to come and visit their holy sites."

"The office for Kosovo and Metohija is in contact with legal representatives and families, and will ensure, as in all similar situations in the past, every kind of help and support. We appeal to international organizations in Kosovo and Metohija to show their readiness and invest their authority so that Pristina is restrained in its intention to destabilize the political and security situation in the province," the announcement said in the end.

Vucic: Dr. Djuro Macut mandated for the composition of the new government (RTS, media)

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced last evening that Professor Dr. Djuro Macut will be the representative for the composition of the new Serbian government, reported RTS.

Vucic said that the new government will be elected by Good Friday and that it has difficult tasks ahead of it - for the country to stand up to all pressures regarding regional politics, for the country to resolve the tax issue with the USA, to speed up the European path, to simultaneously preserve its traditional friends in the east and to restore the level of investments, both foreign and domestic.

The President said that 16 people from central Serbia were arrested in Kosovo, who went to visit the seminary and monasteries in the vicinity of Prizren.

"And imagine, some of those people are also members of the security structures, and then they found, they say, a knife and some broken axe. And that shows you what kind of terror against Serbs continues, because the only thing that matters is that it is against Serbs. And of course, everyone will be silent and will not say a word," said Vucic.

According to KoSSev, he also told Serbs in Kosovo that Serbia will continue to support them, and warned those who would like to go to Kosovo:

"To know that they are not going to the territory that is under the effective control of normal people, but those who are just looking for a reason to harass, arrest and even kill them."

Regarding the ongoing protests, Vucic stated that from the beginning of the protests in Serbia, it was a 'colored revolution' and an attempt to overthrow the government in Serbia, and, above all, as he said, an attempt to overthrow it.

He said he expected to meet President Trump within the next month on the topic of tariffs and trade relations with the US.

President Vucic stated among other things that the situation in the region was very difficult, especially the political situation in RS and BiH, expressing concern that any decision to attempt to arrest Milorad Dodik would be catastrophic for the entire region and Serbia.

Diocese: No one was detained in the Seminary, irresponsible insinuations about the use of religious institutions for camouflage (KoSSev)

A total of 16 people were detained in the actions of the Kosovo Police conducted on Saturday and Sunday in Prizren and Djakovica.

Four of them were detained on Saturday in Djakovica, and according to the Kosovo institutions, they are Serbs, one of whom is a former colonel in the police, and the other a captain of the Serbian army.

On Sunday, a new arrest followed - a total of 12 people in Prizren.

Kosovo's Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Svecla, announced yesterday that four of the group are active officers of the Serbian security services, that this group allegedly intended to "gather information about possible targets", and that evidence was found of connections with Serbian military-intelligence structures and members of the group that clashed with the police in Banjska in 2023.

When it comes to the group detained in Prizren, Svecla stated that two of them were active officers of the Serbian security services, but also that they were in the Orthodox Theological Seminary.

"The fact that they took refuge in the Orthodox Theological Seminary may indicate an attempt to use religious institutions for camouflage or to provoke inter-ethnic/religious tensions in Kosovo, using fabricated events to incite violent reactions or riots," he said.

No one was detained in the Seminary, announced the Diocese

In the meantime, the reaction of the Eparchy of Rasko-Prizren followed.

Abazi: Kurti cannot form a government, tries to create panic and crisis by accusing Serbia (Kosovo Online, Danas, FoNet)

Member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Haki Abazi, criticized acting PM Albin Kurti after his statement that Serbia was attempting to sabotage the establishment of Kosovo’s new Assembly and Government. According to Kosovo Online, Abazi stated that Kurti was actually trying to cover up his own failure to form institutions by stirring up tensions and panic among the public.

"Kurti cannot form a government and that’s why he is trying to create panic and crisis. Kosovo has had no benefit from him to this day," Abazi wrote in a FB post.

He claimed that Kurti is unlawfully remaining in the PM’s office and that all his meetings and statements are "fake," including, as he said, the interviews he gives to "Russian journalists."

Abazi further assessed that Kurti’s narrative about a security threat from Serbia was actually an attempt to delay the formation of institutions.

He warned that such statements harm Kosovo’s economic interests and stability, especially at a time when, according to him, NATO was strengthening its presence and security guarantees in the region.

"The aesthetics of flowers are trying to mask the isolation Kurti finds himself in, as well as the measures imposed on him by the EU and the U.S. At the same time, no Albanian parliamentary party sees him as a partner anymore," Abazi concluded, adding that Kurti "has betrayed both promises and the blood of activists for the sake of power and office."

Haxhiu: SL remains a “ticking time bomb”; Salahu: “Declare the SL a terrorist organization” (Kosovo Online)

Kosovo’s Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, criticized opposition parties for what she described as the renewed political legitimization of the Serbian List, which she called a "ticking time bomb in Kosovo."

"When lessons are not learned from mistakes, one can only be surprised by the manifestation of their wrong actions in due time. That is how the Serbian List was created during the dialogue process—as Serbia’s political entity in Kosovo. They endlessly depended on this proxy of Belgrade, which manipulated every government, except for Kurti’s. The Serb List was and remains a ticking time bomb in our country," Haxhiu wrote in a FB post yesterday, reported Kosovo Online.

She emphasized that the opposition had the opportunity to prevent the political rehabilitation of the SL by refusing to certify its participation in the elections.

"The opposition once again had the opportunity to correct the mistake. They had the chance—and it was crucial—not to certify the Serbian List for the elections as long as its vice president was the organizer and leader of the attack in Banjska and had never distanced himself from that event. But they raised their hands and confirmed it. Thus, from one mistake to another, without understanding the vital importance of proper, national, and historic action," she stressed.

Acting Deputy Minister of Justice in the Government of Kosovo, Blerim Salahu, stated that the review of the indictment and the trial in the Banjska case should be concluded as soon as possible, including the "declaration of the Serbian List as a terrorist organization."

According to him, any other verdict by the competent court would represent a violation of "Kosovo's state security."

"The review of the indictment and the trial of the Serbian terrorists in the Banjska case must be concluded as soon as possible, including the declaration of the Serbian List as a terrorist organization. Any other verdict by the competent court would constitute a brutal violation of the state security of the Republic of Kosovo," wrote Salahu yesterday also on FB, reported Kosovo Online.

Protests announced despite the cancellation of the recruitment competition in health centers (KiM radio)

KiM radio reported yesterday that although the recruitment contests in the Health Centers in central Kosovo were canceled, dissatisfied people announced protests until, as they said, their demands were met.

They announced the next protests on Monday in front of the Health Center in Ugljare at 10:00 a.m. and in front of the Health Center in Gracanica at 12:00 p.m.

KiM radio recalled that  Gracanica, Donja Gusterica and Ugljare, citizens protested last week, dissatisfied with these competitions that the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia announced for hiring temporary workers.

Serbs from Kosovo begin 250-kilometre march to Vucic’s rally in Belgrade (Beta, N1, Kosovo Online, media)

More than 150 Serbs from Kosovo set out on foot Sunday morning for Belgrade to attend the rally scheduled for Saturday, April 12, marking the founding of the Movement for People and State, initiated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

According to the portal Kosovo Online, the march includes participants from Gracanica and surrounding areas of central Kosovo, Kosovsko Pomoravlje, North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavic.

Vucic previously called citizens to the rally via TikTok, stating that “for several months now, there has been an attempt to overthrow Serbia, organized externally and internally,” and emphasizing the need to “take back the stolen state.”

“You decide what kind of country you want to live in. You have the power. And yes, tomorrow might be too late. Serbia will prevail! See you in Belgrade on April 12 at 7:00 PM,” Vucic said in his TikTok post.

Bisevac: Where are the SL officials among those who walk to Vucic's rally? (Danas)

"The departure of some of our compatriots from Kosovo and Metohija to the rally of Aleksandar Vucic is not a sincere expression of support, but a consequence of pressure and blackmail. A large number of these people are employed in institutions controlled by the government and are forced to attend such events in order not to lose their jobs or be exposed to other forms of repression," Milija Bisevac, leader of the Serbian People's Movement from Kosovo told Danas.

"We want to make it clear that this does not represent the position of the majority of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija. On the contrary, the nation is in the most difficult moment in history, to which we have been brought precisely by the policy of the Serbian List and their principals — the policy of loyalty to the regime in Belgrade at all costs, and not to the interests of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija," assessed Bisevac.

According to him, this was another example in a series of examples of how Serbs from Kosovo were misused for daily political purposes — to create a false impression of unity and support in central Serbia.

"Enough is enough of using our people as a political prop. We need sincere support and a realistic assessment of the situation, not marketing representations that push us into deeper and deeper isolation and uncertainty," concluded Danas' interlocutor.

Sekerinska: NATO supports dialogue, claims of U.S. withdrawal from KFOR are false (Kosovo Online)

In an interview with Kosovo Online in Brussels, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Sekerinska stated that claims of a U.S. withdrawal from KFOR have proven to be false. Responding to assertions from Kosovo government officials that Serbia could attack Kosovo, she noted that rhetoric at times can be concerning.

Serbian students resumed cycling journey to Strasbourg with Gyor next (N1)

Serbian students resumed their cycling journey to Strasbourg, with Gyor as their destination on Sunday before heading toward Vienna.

The Budapest-to-Gyor segment of the trip covers 134 kilometers. As they ride through towns and villages, residents cheer them on, shouting words of encouragement and honking their car horns in support.

On Saturday, the students arrived in Budapest, where they were welcomed at Heroes’ Square. In addition to Serbian expatriates living in the city, the Mayor of Budapest, Gergely Karácsony, greeted them.

A total of 80 students from Serbia are cycling to Strasbourg, passing through Subotica, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Munich, Augsburg, Ulm, and Stuttgart.

Their goal is to draw the European Union’s attention to their months-long protests against corruption in Serbia, a Balkan nation seeking EU membership. They are expected to arrive in Strasbourg on April 17.
