Serbs of the north in the dialogue teams of Serbia (Koha Ditore)
Serbs of Kosovo will be part of the two delegations in the process of the political dialogue initiated last month inBrussels. Serbs from the north, will participate in the teams ofSerbia, while Serbs from the other parts, will participate in Kosovo teams. This news has been confirmed by both sides of Serbs, divided on their political positions after the declaration of the independence of Kosovo.
Nenad Rasic, Serb Minister in the Government of Kosovo, said to this daily that working groups within the delegations will take place after the meeting of 7 November between the Prime Ministers, announced to be held in Brussels. “Serbia will nominate several groups, be it from Belgrade, or from the north of Kosovo, which will represent interests of Belgrade and local Serbs (of northern Kosovo,) because we have to understand that the reality of Serbs of the south is different from the reality of the Serbs in the north, and this is the reason why we should have a communication in order to have a joint position,” Said Rasic.
Another Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic, who used to be deputy at the Assembly of Kosovo, but who aligned at the other side after Kosovo’s independence, stated that it is necessary for the Serbs of the north to be included in the dialogue. “I expect, ad it is quite necessary for the Serbs of the north to be included in the Belgrade delegation, otherwise, we will have problems, initially with the finding of the suitable solution and secondly, we will have problems with implementation, if they are not involved,” said Ivanovic.
