CEC to certify election results today (RTK)
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has called a press conference today where, according to the public broadcaster RTK, it will announce certification of 11 June elections results. Certification of results will pave way for the formation of the new government of Kosovo.
Mustafa on meeting Kurti: We are open to talks (RTK)
In an interview to RTK, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, admitted to meeting Vetevendosje’s Albin Kurti and Visar Ymeri and said they are open to talks. “We have left open the possibility of talking to Vetevendosje to see whether we can approximate our programs”, Mustafa said. He added however that they two sides never concretely discussed the prospect of a coalition.
AAK to Mustafa: Forget personal grudges (Koha)
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, part of PAN coalition, advised the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, to leave aside “personal grudges” and join PAN coalition in forming the new government. AAK spokesperson, Muharrem Nitaj, said PAN coalition and its candidate for prime minister Ramush Haradinaj will be the ones to form the new government but that “it would be in the interest of the country for politicians in Kosovo, including Mr. Mustafa, to forget personal grudges and gather around Ramush Haradinaj in order for Kosovo to have a stable government”, Nitaj said. AAK’s reaction comes after Mustafa said LDK would be open to cooperating with AAK if it were to leave PAN.
Bulliqi to head government’s border demarcation commission? (EO)
Ekonomia Online news website reports that one of the first steps Ramush Haradinaj will undertake if elected prime minister of Kosovo is to address the border demarcation issue with Montenegro. In this respect, Haradinaj plans to replace the current head of the government’s border demarcation commission, Murat Meha, with Shpejtim Bulliqi, former MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and one of the staunchest opponents of the current border demarcation agreement. Bulliqi, geography professor by occupation, said he was not aware of such an initiative but that he stands ready to offer his contribution to the matter.
Company awarded sticker bid, deal with Serbia to come into force (Zeri)
Kosovo’s Interior Ministry announced it has awarded the bid for supplying with stickers for license plates to a company and this now paves way for the implementation of the movement of cars agreement with Serbia. The agreement, on hold for a almost a year, foresees the placing of stickers on emblems of the license plates
