Fajon says “Peace Park” tensions situation, it should be removed (kohaonline)

Deputy of the European Parliament, Tanja Fajon, spoke in an interview for Radio Dukagjini about the “Peace Park” set immediately after the removal of the barricade over the River Ibër/Ibar bridge. “I would urge both p[arties, Albanians and Serbs, to restrain from violence and clashes. Normal flow of life in Kosovo is extremely important. Also it is very important for this barricade to be removed as soon as possible, because it is being proved that the situation there, with this “Peace Park” could escalate,” said Fajon.

She stressed that it is very important for a country which aspires integration at the European Union not to set road blockades.

Fajon said she is engaged with other Euro-deputies to “to break the wall” for Kosovars, however, according to her, clashes like the ones at Mitrovica bridge do not contribute in any manner to the ambitions of the Kosovars to travel without visas. “It is a very important matter to avoid provocations of violence, to avoid clashes because any tensioning of the situation could prolong the process of liberalization,” said Slovenian Deputy at the EU Parliament, Tanja Fajon.

A few days ago, the British Euro-Deputy, Richard Hawit, said for Radio Dukagjini that violent protests are counter-productive for Kosovo at this time of aspirations for an easier traveling to the EU.
