Assembly does not discuss KAF, opposition leaves the chairmanship meeting (Koha.net)
The opposition parties have left today the meeting of the Kosovo Assembly chairmanship, because the coalition parties have decided to remove from the agenda constitutional amendments for the Kosovo Armed Force (KAF).
According to Glauk Konjuvca from Vetevendosje movement, KAF was removed from the agenda due to the disagreements with the Serbian List. “I did not agree with the decision of governing parties to withdraw constitutional amendments for establishment of the KAF from the agenda. I think that this was done intentionally by the current authorities that govern with Kosovo,” Konjufca said.
Head of the PDK’s parliamentary group, Adem Grabovci said that they have requested to remove the issue from the agenda. “We should be honest with the public opinion. We have requested to remove the Law which foresees constitutional amendments for KAF from the agenda, being that double voting, including that of minorities is required,” Grabovci said. He added that transformation of KSF into KAF is with interest for all Kosovo people.
Head of LDK Parliamentary Group, Ismet Beqiri, said that the Assembly chairmanship does not decide on the agenda but the decision is reached based on the discussions. “We as LDK, support establishment of the KAF. Double voting is required therefore we will continue with our efforts to reach this agreement,” said Beqiri.
