Security measures at heritage sites increase on the verge of voting at UNESCO (Koha.net)

The process of Kosovo’s membership at UNESCO, faced during all these weeks a propaganda and lobbying by Serbia’s politicians and institutions against the acceptance of Kosovo in UNESCO.

This was the reason to suspect on the possibility of some set up incident at some cultural or religious heritage site in Kosovo.

Kosovo Police confirmed to Koha.net intensification of its activities in defense of these sites. “Some of these sites (of cultural and religious heritage) are guarded 24/7, while Kosovo Police looks after all the other sites during the commence of its regular duties. It is normal that these days we have intensified activities to protect these sites in order to prevent some eventual incident which would affect this process,” replied Kosovo Police.

The same added further that cultural and religious sites are constantly secured by the police, and that required actions are undertaken based on the assessments.
