Kosovo suffers from high profile corruption (Gazeta Blic)
Kosovo continues to suffer and to be a dysfunctional state as a consequence of corruption especially at a high profile level, while there is a lack of political will to combat it officially.
This was said today at a press conference organized by Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED). Ariana Qosja from the Institution, mentioned confiscation of illegal property as the major challenge. “The situation is extremely problematic when it comes to cases of high profile corruption,” Qosja said. She also added that the judicial system applies a selective approach and that there are still individuals who are above the law.
In order to improve the current situation, KIPRED suggests more transparency and accountability of the special prosecutors towards the public, when high profile corruption cases are concerned.
