Hoxhaj: Serbia’s goal is not EU but domination of region (Koha)
Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj said in an interview to Croatian news agency Hina that Serbia’s goal is not to join the European Union but rather to dominate south-east Europe through tensions with neighbouring countries. “Serbia wants to create a sphere of influence in the region in the Russian style by demonstrating its role and power in Bosnia and Herzegovina through Republika Srpska, in Kosovo through the Serb population in the north, in Montengro as well as Macedonia, even in Croatia by inciting continuous tensions,” Hoxhaj said. He said he didn’t believe a conflict would break out in the Western Balkans region but warned that “a war of information” is already launched by Belgrade. Speaking about Kosovo’s independence, Hoxhaj said: “All countries know, as does Belgrade, that at the end of this process it has to recognise Kosovo. This is the goal of the dialogue.”
