Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, said he was convinced the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro will be put to vote at the Assembly this week. He said they are close to reaching consensus on ratification of the agreement. “All partners in the government, the political parties that represent the citizens of Kosovo and political parties representing Serb and non-Serb communities will support the agreement. We are close to reaching a full political consensus with partners in the government but at the same time with other MPs expected to vote for the agreement,” Hoxhaj told Ekonomia Online news website.
At the same time, Kosovapress quotes Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj saying there is no new development on the issue of the border demarcation. Similarly, the head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group, Ahmet Isufi, said consultations on securing the necessary votes to pass the agreement are ongoing. “There is nothing specific at this time,” Isufi said.
