In his remarks at the EU-Western Balkans summit in Sofia, President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said the event is an extraordinary success as it lies on the efforts for an inclusive and equal approach to all and supports the principle of European perspective for the entire Western Balkans region. “It is my pleasure to also personally confirm Kosovo’s support for the content of this summit’s declaration and of Sofia’s priority agenda. We support key principles of strengthened cooperation, good neighbourly relations and the need for a sustainable and binding solution of bilateral disagreements,” Thaci said. He underlined that Kosovo remains fully committed to the above goals, including the EU-facilitated dialogue for normalisation of relations with Serbia. “Kosovo is ready to enter the final stage of the dialogue with Serbia for reaching a legally-binding agreement for normalisation of relations and reconciliation.” “Allow me to highlight the need for equal rules of the game now that we’re moving towards further implementation of topics we are discussing in this summit, and in Kosovo’s case this involves a swift conclusion of the visa liberalisation process whereby Kosovo has fulfilled all 95 required criteria,” Thaci said.
