World Bank urges developed economy (RTKLive)
The World Bank Director for Eastern Europe, Ellen Goldstein, in an interview for VoA talked about some of the challenges facing Kosovo, as high unemployment among young people, attracting foreign investors and the process of privatizations. "Creating jobs has been our top priority in Kosovo. The World Bank has supported Kosovo with a two-part strategy. The first part aims to accelerate the growth of the private sector and the second part relates to addressing the challenges of the environment and natural resources management facing Kosovo, which ultimately undermine economic growth," Goldstein said. "When we talk about speeding the economic growth, we are focused on solving energy problems facing Kosovo; in order to grow and generate jobs, Kosovo should have an energy system that would always work. " "As we strive for a comprehensive new strategy for energy in Kosovo, should be considered different forms of energy and use them properly; we say with an optimistic conjecture, that in 20-25 years Kosovo will be based on a new power-plant, which would utilize the abundant resources of coal, "she said.
