Déjà vu (Kosova Sot)
In its front-page editorial, the paper writes that the battle for power is coming at a high cost for Kosovo. While certain politicians claim that there is no crisis and the current situation is normal for a democratic country, the consequences of not forming new institutions will be serious for all sectors. The decision of the Constitutional Court that was intended to unblock the situation had an opposite effect and only solidified the positions of the parties while the president’s intervention is not expected to result in any breakthrough, writes the paper. At the same time, the president of Kosovo lacks political experience and has no courage to exercise her mandate. As a result, the Constitutional Court may receive in the coming days another request from President Jahjaga to clarify her tasks. “Under these circumstances, when no meeting between parties that want to come to power has taken place, any future session will be a reprisal of the past one”, writes the paper. “Someone has to give in”, it says suggesting that the PDK should come out with concrete offers for other parties while the opposition bloc should reflect on its stances for the sake of the Kosovo citizens’ interests.
