Government informs EU on Serbia’s illegal interventions in Kosovo (Koha)
The government of Kosovo sent an official note to the European Union on Monday about Serbia’s continuous illegal interventions in Kosovo and the violation of the Brussels Agreement with the decision to extend parallel structures in the municipality of Shterpce/Strpce. Kosovo’s Minister without portfolio, Edita Tahiri, sent a letter to EU official Fernando Gentilini, calling on the EU to take all measures to prevent Serbia from interfering through its parallel structures in Kosovo. “Serbia also continues to maintain parallel structures in the four northern municipalities and the Government of Kosovo has constantly notified the European Union about this, including the report on the implementation of the Brussels Agreement sent on October 2014,” Tahiri wrote in the letter. “Serbia’s illegal interventions in Kosovo were always negative and created tensions and instability. Such actions are not in line with the European Union’s policy for good neighborly relations and regional stability. On the contrary, these are acts of desperation aimed at impeding the democratic legitimacy and the work of municipal mayors elected in line with the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Kosovo”.
