Mustafa: Visa liberalization in 2015 (Gazeta Blic)

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said that Kosovo will be granted visa liberalization regime during 2015. In a meeting of the steering committee on visa liberalization, Mustafa reaffirmed that the issue remains a priority for the government of Kosovo. “Among other things, this process also depends on our engagement and dynamics in implementing the remaining criteria regarding the negotiation and signing of repatriation agreements with certain countries,” said PM Mustafa. He said Kosovo needs to fulfill certain obligations deriving from the process, including fight against organised crime and corruption.

Speaking about irregular migration of the Kosovo people, Mustafa said he is very concerned with the situation. “It is a bitter reality for me, the government of Kosovo and all of us. We are therefore undertaking reforms in economic development, in particular in the field of agriculture, to create better living conditions,” he said.

At the same time, Minister of European Integration Bekim Collaku said that despite significant progress, Kosovo needs to do more on implementing necessary criteria for visa liberalization. He said that in the meetings with European Commission officials, they agreed to prepare a final report once it is considered that Kosovo has met all the requirements.
