"Presevo valley must feature in normalization of relations" (B92, Tanjug)

Ragmi Mustafa says "there cannot be normalization" between Belgrade and Pristina "without inclusion of the Presevo valley."

Mustafa is the new President of the Albanian Minority National Council in Serbia. "Presevo valley" is the informal name for a region in the southern part of central Serbia that has ethnic Albanian minorities in three of its largest towns: Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja.

Several media cover an interview that Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa gave to Dnevni Abaz, highlighting his remarks that the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is quite difficult. “It is a very difficult process. Serbia’s is interfering greatly in Kosovo’s internal arrangements, especially in the northern part of the country. We want to integrate Serbs in all our institutions. There are parallel structures operating in Kosovo with Serbia’s backing. We see no reason whatsoever why this should continue,” he said.

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), considers the fact that the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci discussed transformation of KSF with the Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic, and not with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, unacceptable and hurting. He said that this is a mistake made by the President, and added that except for the PM Mustafa, he should have also consulted numerous experts of military matters. He also said that Thaçi might take credit for creation of the Army, but the important thing is for the Army to be created.

The government of Kosovo has issued a press release saying that it will review the draft law on Kosovo Security Force (KSF) transformation as soon as it receives it from the Assembly and make sure it is in line with the Constitution of Kosovo. The press release states that the draft law was proposed by President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, but that Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, was informed on the initiative on 5 March before Thaci announced it during a visit to KSF barracks.

Mustafa: Commission’s report on border demarcation to approved this week (media)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said the government will endorse this week the Commission for measuring of Kosovo territory report this week which gave the green light to the current version of the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. At the government meeting, Mustafa said this is the last chance for the agreement to be ratified and pave way for visa liberalisation.  “Ratification cannot fail,” Mustafa is quoted in Klan Kosova.

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said at a conference in Pristina that economic development is a priority for the government and that Kosovo has improved its ranking in world indexes for doing business. Mustafa said the government will make further efforts to improve the investment climate and that the labour market in Kosovo is quite flexible.

Two weeks after the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, sent a letter to the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, to inform him that the appointment of the Customs Director based on the memorandum signed with the British Embassy, is illegal, the Ministry of Finance came out with a clarification which stresses that all foreseen parameters for the position were respected.
