Office for KiM: Liaison officer refused entry to Kosovo (Blic)

Belgrade - Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric criticized the Kosovo authorities because they banned Liaison officer Dejan Pavicevic to enter Kosovo.

"Denial of entry into the territory of the Province to Dejan Pavicevic, who at the time of the incident was in the car with diplomatic license plates of the EU mission, is a gross violation of the agreement that Belgrade and Pristina reached through the mediation of the EU," the statement said.

It adds that "particularly concerns the fact that such actions of Pristina authorities, contrary to the commitments made, undoubtedly complicate further the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina."

"Dejan Pavicevic was returned from administrative crossing Merdare under the pretence that he does not have a valid document, which is not justified because the papers which he travelled with are absolutely valid on the basis of the agreement on liaison officers," the statement said.

The Serbian government hopes for the urgent resolution of this contentious situation and requires a full respect for the commitments of all stakeholders involved in achieving the Brussels agreement.
