Jihadists in Kosovo (Vesti)
Dalibor Jevtic, Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government thinks that the emergence of radical Islamism is danger to all who do not support such an idea, especially for the people of other faiths.
On the question of whether the Orthodox Serbs could be potential victims of attack by radical Islamists, he says he has not received information that speaks in favour of it.
- But that does not mean that such a threat does not exist and therefore the competent must do everything to prevent such thing to happen.
Attacks on Serb returnees which recently occurred especially in Metohija region, as he pointed out," were attacks on returnees’ property whose main motive, according to the evaluation of the Kosovo Police, was of the material nature."
- No information about any of the Serbs attacked due to the presence of radical Islamism - says Jevtic.
Minister in the Government of Kosovo said that he received the first information about the existence of radical Islamism and the threat of terrorism in Kosovo only through the media.
Unknown measures
"If the assessment of structures dealing with the issue of security is such that in Kosovo there is danger of radical Islamism, then I believe such assessment of relevant institutions. I cannot speak about measures because I am not aware of all the measures taken, but there is a need to prevent spreading of this phenomenon as a threat to the whole Kosovo society," says Jevtic.
