Priština hiding the results (Vesti)

The turnout of Serbs in Kosovo elections was unexpectedly good, for example in Leposavić/Leposaviç 50 per cent of citizens cast the ballots, 200 more than in local elections. Good turnout was also registered in other municipalities in northern Kosovo, the call of Serbian government was beneficial, Serbs in the north are listening to what their state is telling them and most of them behave accordingly, said Mayor of Leposavić/Leposaviç Municipality and member of the steering group for implementation of Brussels agreement, Dragan Jablanović to Vesti.

Jablanović stressed that results published by the official Pristina are not correct, because their electoral rolls are inflated and chaotic. According to them the turnout in Leposavić/Leposaviç was only 24%, what is not correct, according to their inflated electoral rolls there are 200.000 more voters in Kosovo than inhabitants, said Jablanović and added that as far as Srpska is concerned nothing is final yet.

“Besides ten guaranteed seats, we expect at least 10-13 seats. If the law on elections is respected and if the same rules apply to us and to Albanian parties, Serbs will have more than 20 seats in the Kosovo parliament. Final decision will be brought in Brussels, we expect that negotiation team of Serbia will manage to obtain the same rules for Serbs and Albanians, and the support of the European Union, said Jablanović.

The optimistic expectations of Jablanović and other Serbs is based on the fact that total turnout in Kosovo was around 43%, that is, around 700.000 voters, whereas only the Serbian List has won more than 35.000 votes, what is more than the 5% threshold.

It is important for Serbs to have at least 14 MPs in the Kosovo Assembly, what is 70% of the total number of minority deputies in the parliament. With that figure they can block all discriminatory laws against minorities, which Albanian majority would try to adopt.
