Serbs from the north appeal for urgent resolution of election problems (RTK2)
Serb representatives from the north expect from international community to find solution for problems with regards to electoral boards, electoral roll and election material as soon as possible, in order that election campaign could pursue, hence they expect Serbian government to come up with the clear stance and call to all Serbs to turn out in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Chairperson of Srpska Ticket Aleksandar Jablanović stressed that any inactivity with regards to election campaign will significantly influence the turnout of Serbs in this part of Kosovo. Jablanović expects international factors to find solution for emerged problems in order that they could continue with the campaign.
“Our message to Central Election Commission (CEC) is that if they want to have elections in northern part of Kosovo and Metohija with active participation of Srpska Ticket and all citizens, interested for participating in this election, they have to seat down with us, that we find solution for problems which obviously exist, with regards to electoral roll, members of the electoral boards and the appearance of elections material,” said Jablanović.
In Civic Initiative SDP argue that it is about the new moment which caused short cessation of the election campaign. They expect Serbian government to come up with the clear stance and call to all Serbs to turn out in upcoming elections as many as possible in order to settle their status.
“Big number of voters has been dropped out from the electoral rolls,” said Ksenija Božović, deputy president of the CI SDP and added that CI SDP has drawn attention to CEC and OSCE that those parliamentary elections have to be like the local ones – status neutral, and ‘that we should abide by the Resolution 1244 and Brussels agreement’.
CI SDP called on unity of Serbs and as massive as possible turnout in the upcoming parliamentary elections in order that they are represented in Kosovo institutions, where they should address their problems.
