Increased number of Albanians leaving Kosovo (Vecernje Novosti)
At least 650 inhabitants of Kosovo are leaving Kosovo every month through Serbia, ending up in Hungary and other states writes Pristina-based Zeri and adds that number of Albanians leaving Kosovo is in rise.
According to Kosovo police data, number of asylum seekers in EU states, who are coming from Kosovo has reached 4,455.
The growing trend has been acknowledged, particularly in July and August, whereas the Ambassador of Hungary has expressed particular concern due to a number of Albanians leaving Kosovo from the regions of Urosevac/Ferizaj and Kosovo Polje/Fushë Kosovë which is much higher than the number of members of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians. Albanians actually present themselves as Ashkalis in order to have an alibi to receive the asylum, even though it is not possible to receive it anymore, said Minister of the Interior of Kosovo Bajram Rexhepi.
“We had other priorities and we have focused on fight against the Islamic extremism, whereas that ignorance could influence such situation,” said Rexhepi.
